Building better bonds—one tail wag at a time.
Hi! I’m Kristin, the heart behind Kindred Hound Training. I’ve been helping people and their dogs build better relationships since 2015, when I first started as a pet store dog trainer and later became lead trainer. I became a certified dog trainer while working at the pet store including getting my AKC certification allowing me to help pet parents meet more training goals. During my time training at the pet store, I was able to work privately and in group settings with many different breeds of dogs from different backgrounds. In 2017, I decided to take a step into the medical field, but I continued to train privately because my passion for dogs never left my side.
Now, after living in Camden County, GA for several years, I see every day how much our community needs practical, real-life dog training—and I’m here to help. I use mostly positive reinforcement training methods, but believe in blending different techniques to meet each dog where they are, so more dogs can stay happy in their homes and out of shelters and off the streets. Doing this if often referred to as balanced training method as you balance what is needed on a case by case basis. Every dog deserves a loving home and connection with their family.
Alongside training, I have a strong passion for holistic wellness and natural remedies. Over the years, exploring gentle, natural ways to support my own dogs’ health—through herbs, nutrition, and mindful care—has transformed how I see animal well-being as a whole.
Beyond dogs, I’ve always had a soft spot for all animals. Whether it’s the pets in our homes or the wildlife around us. I have worked with cats, snakes, small animals, birds and more and have always loved working with them all.
At home, I have four wonderful dogs of my own, two cats, two amazing kids, and a husband who is a retired veteran. My family is my inspiration for everything I do.
Thank you for being here—I'm so glad to share this journey with you and your dog!
Meet My Dogs
Because behind every good trainer... is a really good dog (or four).
Kloe – The Golden Soul
Kloe is the queen of calm and the definition of laid-back. With her soft eyes, sweet nature, and signature black birthmark on her face, she turns heads everywhere she goes. She’s happiest lounging in a sunny spot or slowly trailing behind on a walk (if she must). Her gentle energy brings balance to our pack, and she’s taught me that sometimes, the best thing you can offer your dog is presence and patience. She’s a true golden girl in every sense of the word.
Nemo – The Spirited Adventurer
Born with a unique front paw (he’s got 3½ paws, to be exact), Nemo doesn’t let anything slow him down. He’s high energy, full of joy, and always the first to celebrate life with a happy bark and a full-body wiggle. Training Nemo has been a beautiful reminder that ability isn’t defined by perfection—and that enthusiasm is a gift. He’s our daily spark of light and laughter.
Ellie – The Fierce & Sweet
Ellie is our high-octane sweetheart with a big personality and an even bigger heart. While she has some challenges with reactivity around other female dogs, her loyalty and affection toward her people are unmatched. She’s been my biggest teacher in compassion, patience, and celebrating progress over perfection. Training Ellie has deepened my understanding of behavior and the power of relationship-based guidance.
Montana – The Eager Learner
Montana is our goofy English Cream boy with endless puppy energy and a clever brain to match. He’s curious about everything, quick to catch on, and always eager to show off what he’s learned—especially if there are treats involved. His playful spirit reminds me why I love working with puppies, and he keeps our days full of movement, mischief, and big golden grins.
